Hoggs of Fife
Family owned since 1888, Hoggs of Fife is a heritage brand with firm roots in farming and fieldsports. For over 135 years, it's still owned and managed by the Hogg family (4th generation) and based within the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. Hoggs of Fife has never lost sight of its founding principles; honest products that are fit for purpose for men and women who work outdoors, and sensibly priced.
Fit for farm work
Hoggs of Fife unisex clothing is built around the simple principle that if you work outdoors for a living, your gear needs to keep up. The Green King II range covers the full working day - from a bonded fleece mid-layer that you can pull on at first light, through to fully waterproofed EN343 3:3 rated outerwear when the rain sets in. The ripstop jacket, smock, bib and brace, and overtrousers are all cut for movement rather than appearance, with reinforced panels where it matters, waterproof zips throughout, and details like ski-lock shoulder straps and entry zips that make sense when your hands are cold.
What we've found at Wild & Moor is that people come back for Hoggs. When a customer buys the Green King II bib and brace, they tend to then go for the jacket or smock, then the stormproof fleece, gradually building a layering system. This is mostly because the kit does what it's supposed to do, day after day. It’s the Hoggs ‘Fit for purpose’ approach.
Green King II for Farming
The Green King II range has been designed to fit both men and women. The core of the system are the Green King II Waterproof Jacket and Waterproof Smock are both built from 100% polyester ripstop fabric with nylon oxford woven reinforcement panels, full EN343 3:3 rating, waterproof zips throughout, and mesh lining for comfort. The smock features sides twin-zips (which supply underarm pit ventilation) and a quarter-zip front. Both are lightweight, durable, and easy to clean.
Bib & Brace: The Green King II Bib & Brace is our best-selling Hoggs product. The high-fronted chest and adjustable ski-lock shoulder straps give excellent body coverage when the weather turns; the waterproof side zips make pocket access easy; and the reinforced knees handle the daily wear that farm and field work demands. Hoggs have also recently added a waterproof zip fly to the bibs. Carried over from the original Green King, the EN343 3:3 ripstop fabric is waterproof, lightweight, and tough.
For colder conditions, the Green King II Waterproof Thermal Bib & Brace adds lightweight insulation to the same quality bibs, keeping you dry and protected.
Waterproof Overtrousers: For anyone who prefers a separate lower layer - updated from the original with Cordura reinforcements and an improved waistband.
Fleece & Insulating Layers: The Green King II range doesn't stop at the outer shell - it includes a strong selection of mid-layers designed to sit underneath or be worn on their own.
