Hoggs of Fife Struther Trilaminate Long Smock
The detailed design elements of the Struther Long Smock are very impressive. You can see that the Hoggs of Fife designers have collaborated with fieldsports professionals to create a tough, lightweight, waterproof, windproof and breathable smock that's suitable for a multitude of fieldsports activities and easy to put on and take off.
The Struther fabric is lightweight, tough and quiet, and features a triple lamination, which includes a Proof-Tex™ membrane to improve the garment's ability to stop water and wind, while allowing it to breath. The Trilaminate Long Smock is fully seam-sealed and coated with a Teflon™ Durable Water Repellent (DWR), to resist rain and stains, while further enhancing breathability. It may look like a simple smock, but it's packed with essential features.
Designed for rain
Thoughtful features on this smock mean you'll stay dry without compromise. As well as the triple lamination, Teflon and DWR, there are other features that help to keep out the wet. Firstly, the hood - it's fully adjustable for a superb fit and has a slightly weighted and structured peak to retain good visibility when you're on the hills. The hood also features an adjustable chin strap for a secure, windproof fit.
To prevent rain from dropping down into the smock, there is a waterproof zipped neck, which can be further protected with an outer storm flap with quiet magnetic closure - genius idea! So, if the wind and rain hit hard, you can quickly protect yourself. Adjustable cuffs will prevent rain from running in while using your binos, thermal spotter or camera.
It's long!
Designed to provide ultimate protection in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, it's made to be long and tough to provide protection for when you're laying on the ground observing or crawling on your belly. But it's not restrictive - side zips that run from the bottom of the garment up to the waist allow you to adjust the fit and also act as vents. The long scooped back covers your backside, so great for keeping dry when sat down in the wet.
Room to stash
The soft-lined chest pocket is large and ideal for stashing your binoculars, thermal imager, or other pieces of kit. It's accessed via a waterproof zip and further protected by an outer storm flap.
Behind the chest pocket, there is another large bellowed pocket which is accessed from either side via waterproof zips. This is where you would keep your gloves and anything wet, as there are drain holes in the bottom of the pocket. It's also where you'd access the toggles for adjusting the waist. Placing the toggles behind waterproof zips is a brilliant idea because other brands have placed them externally, which leaves two holes for water to enter the garment. Hoggs of Fife really do design gear that's fit for purpose.

Returning a Faulty Product:
Despite our thorough product checks, occasional faults may occur. If you encounter an issue, contact us at info@wildandmoor.co.uk promptly for swift assistance. We may request a photo or video of the problem to expedite resolution.
If the problem cannot be resolved, and it's within 30 days of purchase, we'll either exchange or refund your order.
After 30 days, if a manufacturing fault is identified, we'll adhere to the terms outlined in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 by repairing or replacing the product.
